This course will look at practical parenting – both from an Islamic and modern perspective: How to spend the period prior to having children, dealing with infertility and treatments such as IVF, pregnancy and the do’s and don’ts, miscarriage and stillborn babies, rules and etiquettes of childbirth, post childbirth rules, rules of financially supporting young and adult children, important guidelines on how to raise and nurture children, Islamic upbringing of children (tarbiya), children and technology/media, disciplining children, Islamic/religious and secular education, and dealing with marriage of offspring. These and many other issues will be discussed during this weekend course, in light of the Qur’an, Prophetic teachings, advices of the pious imams and processors, and modern day experts on parenting, In Sha Allāh. A must for all –especially young parents, the newly married and those aspiring to marry.

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari

Shaykh Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari is a traditionally-trained Islamic scholar who has studied the Arabic language and various other traditional Islamic sciences including Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), Hadith and Fiqh in different parts of the world including the UK, Pakistan and Syria.

The Shaykh has taught many courses and lectured extensively on a range of topics, and continues to travel regularly teaching and lecturing both in the UK and abroad. Presently, he resides in Leicester, UK. He is a teacher of various traditional Islamic sciences, and Director and researcher at the Institute of Islamic Jurisprudence (Darul Iftaa, www.daruliftaa.com).
