Undoubtedly, marriage is much more than the mere gratification of one’s sexual needs; it is a bond of mutual love, compassion and mercy based on love for Allah Most High. However, it would be foolish to deny the important role sexual intimacy plays in a successful marriage. A healthy sexual relationship is absolutely vital in marriage. Scholars today generally agree that one of the primary reasons for failed marriages is failed sexual lives, with problems in the bedroom often leading to unhappiness, dissatisfaction, frustration, and, at times, even divorce.
Moreover, the Qur’an, Sunna and works of classical scholars provide us with detailed and explicit guidelines regarding sexual behavior in marriage. Often, married couples are unaware of the Islamic teachings on the subject with some engaging in acts that are prohibited. At times, a spouse will refuse to engage in a form of sexual activity, mistakenly believing it to be unlawful, which could easily sour their relationship.
In this webinar, we will highlight the importance of sexual relations within marriage, and how to maintain a healthy sexual relationship. We will also look at some basic guidelines and etiquettes in terms of what is permitted and what is not, in light of authentic Islamic teachings.
NOTE: This webinar is intended for those who are either married or are getting married soon.
