In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Hereunder is a list, and synopsis, of some of my teachers; may Allah reward them abundantly. I pray that Allah shower His mercy on those that have passed away, and grant blessings (baraka) in the lives of those that are still alive:
1) My respected father, the pious scholar (al-Ālim aṣ-Ṣaliḥ), mentor (al-Murabbī), Shaykh Mawlānā Ādam al-Qāsimī (may Allah preserve him). A graduate of Dar al-Ulūm in Deoband (India), possessor of high chains (asānīd), and a [long serving] guide and teacher of the Noble Hadiths. He is 83 years old, and currently resides in Leicester (UK).
2) Shaykh al-Islam, al-Muḥaddith, jurist (al-Faqīh), former judge (al-Qāḍi), Shaykh Mufti Muḥammad Taqi Uthmāni (may Allah protect him). He requires no introduction. Author of the famous commentary on Saḥīḥ Muslim tilted Takmila Fath ʾl-Mulhim, Fiqh al-Buyūʿ and numerous other beneficial works. Serving as the Chairman of AAOIFI and holding Vice-presidency at Dar al-Ulūm Karāchi are two of his many posts. I studied formally with him around 1999.
3) Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlānā Islam al-Haq (may Allah have mercy on him). He taught Imam Bukhari’s Ṣaḥīḥ for numerous years in both India and the UK. We studied it with him in its entity in 1996 at Dar al-Ulūm (Bury, UK), a month before his demise. Shortly thereafter, he travelled for Umra in the month of Ramaḍān and passed away in the city of Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and was buried in al-Baqīʿ.
4) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muḥaddith, al-Murabbi, Shaykh Muḥammad Yūsuf Mutālā (may Allah preserve him). A senior student of the great Muḥaddith, al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad Zakariyyā al-Kāndehlawī, and the Head and Shaykh al-Hadith of Dar al-Ulūm (Bury, UK). He is considered to be amongst the senior scholars of the UK, as well as establishing numerous other seminaries. His students are spread across the West. I studied with him during 1993/96.
5) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Mufti Maḥmūd Ashraf Uthmāni (may Allah preserve him). A leading jurist of Pakistan, teacher of hadith, and muftī at Dar al-Ulūm Karāchi. He is a nephew of Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmāni. Humbleness, forbearance, and other praiseworthy manners blossom from his personality. He is an author of beneficial works such as Manāqib Sayyiduna Muʿāwiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). I studied with him around 1998-99.
6) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muqriʾ, al-Faqīh, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Razzāq al-Ḥalabī (may Allah have mercy on him). Known as the Shaykh of al-Shām and an authority whom the elite and masses turned to. He taught tens of books and volumes and listened to the Qurʾān from students according to the ten recitals in the Al-Umawī Mosque in Damascus. He granted me permission in the full recitation of the Noble Qurʾān, Al-Ḥamdulillah, in 2002. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 87.
7) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Uṣūli, al-Adīb, Shaykh Dr. ʿAbd al-Laṭīf al-Farfūr (may Allah have mercy on him). The great scholar of al-Shām and possessor of high asānīd. He received permissions from his father Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Farfūr, Shaykh Muḥammad Makki al-Kattānī, and Shaykh Abū ʾl-Yusr ibn ʿĀbidīn (may Allah have mercy on them all). He has numerous beneficial works such as Ibn ʿĀbidīn Wa Atharuhu fi ʾl-Fiqh ʾl-Islamī. He passed away in 2014 in Malaysia. I studied with him in 2001-2002.
8) Al-ʿAllāmah, the Muḥaddith of al-Shām, Dr. Nūr al-Dīn ʿĪtr (may Allah preserve him). A sublime scholar and an erudite Muḥaddith, and the student and son-in-law of Shaykh Abdullah Sirāj al-Dīn al-Ḥalabi (may Allah have mercy on him). Author of numerous works and invaluable critical editions especially in the science of hadith terminology (mustalah). He has passed 80 years of age, may Allah grant him well-being. I studied with him in 2001-2002.
9) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muqriʾ, al-Mufassir, al-Adīb, al-Lughawi, Shaykh Muḥammad Kurayyim Rājiḥ (may Allah protect him). Previous Shaykh of the recitors (Qurrāʾ) of al-Shām and student of Shaykh Ḥasan Ḥabannaka. He is considered a master of the Noble Qurʾān, its sciences, and its ten recitals. His works include Awḍah ʾl-Bayān fī Sharḥ wa Tafsīr ʾl-Qurʾān. He has passed the age of 90 and currently resides in Qatar. May Allah preserve him and grant him a lengthy life with good health. I studied with him in 2001-2002.
10) Fadīlat al-Shaykh, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, Muftī Shabbīr Aḥmad (may Allah preserve him). He has received hadith permissions from the great Muḥaddith, Shaykh Muḥammad Yūnus al-Jāwnpūrī and others. He taught (and continues to teach) the major books of hadith in the UK for over 35 years and is considered to be amongst the senior Muftis of this country. Amongst his works is Kitāb al-Arbaʿīn fī ʾl-Athān. I studied with him in 1993-94.
The above are ten of my honourable teachers from whom I have acquired knowledge and who have benefitted me, though I believe that I have fallen short in benefiting from them completely due to my shortcomings. I have not mentioned numerous others out of fear of prolongation; for them is their reward by their Lord.
There are others also from whom I have benefitted, by attending their public lessons and gatherings or receiving permissions (ijazah) from them; but did not study by them in a formal and official capacity. They include:
1) Fadīlat al-Shaykh, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, al-Murabbi, Muftī Maḥmūd al-Ḥasan al-Ghangohī of India. He passed away in 1996 in South Africa, may Allah have mercy on him.
2) Al-ʿAllāmah, caller to Allah (ad-Dāʿīyya), thinker (al-Mufakkir), Shaykh Abū ʾl-Ḥasan ʿAlī al-Nadwī of India. He passed away in 1999, may Allah have mercy on him.
3) The great Muḥaddith, Shaykh Muḥammad Yūnus al-Jāwnpūri of India. He passed away in 2017, may Allah have mercy on him.
4) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Mufakkir, ad-Dāʿīyyah, Shaykh ʿAbdullah al-Kāpordrawī of India. He passed away in 2018, may Allah have mercy on him
5) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Murabbi, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Mufti Rashīd Aḥmad Ludyānwī of Pakistan. He passed away in 2002, may Allah have mercy on him.
6) The great Sufi and Murabbi, al-ʿĀrif bi ʾllah, Shaykh Mawlana Ḥakīm Muḥammad Akhtar of Pakistan. He passed away in 2013, may Allah have mercy on him.
7) The martyr in the path of Allah, al-ʿAllāmah, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Mawlana Muḥammad Yūsuf al-Ludyanwī of Pakistan. He was martyred in 2000, may Allah have mercy on him.
8) The famous orator (al-Khaṭīb), Shaykh Mawlānā Muḥammad Ḍhiyāʾ al-Qasimī of Pakistan. He passed away in 2000, may Allah have mercy on him.
9) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muḥaddith, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Muftī Muḥammad Rafīʿ Uthmāni of Pakistan. He is 83 years of age, may Allah protect him.
10) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muḥaddith, al-Murshid, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥafīẓ al-Makkī of Makkat al-Mukarrama. He passed away in 2017 in South Africa, may Allah have mercy on him.
11) The Imām of al-Ḥaram al-Makkī, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Dr. Ṣāliḥ ibn Ḥumayd of Makkat al-Mukarrama. He is 70 years old, may Allah preserve him.
12) The great Muḥaddith with lofty permissions, Shaykh Sayyīd Mālik al-Sanūsī al-Mālikī al-Laythī al-Madanī of Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. He passed away in 2013, may Allah have mercy on him.
13) The great Muḥaddith, Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Muḥaqiq, Shaykh Muḥammad ʿAwwāmah al-Ḥalabī of Al-Madinah al-Munawwarah and recently moved to Turkey. He is in his mid-seventies, may Allah preserve him.
14) The great researcher (al-Muḥaqiq), and Muḥaddith, Shaykh Dr. Taqi al-Dīn al-Nadwī of UAE. He is in his eighties, may Allah preserve him.
15) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Murabbi, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Wahbi Sulaymān al-Ghāwujī al-Albānī of Albanian origin but residing in Syria/Jordon/UAE in his later years. He passed away in 2013, may Allah have mercy on him.
16) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Faqīh Shaykh Muḥammad Amīn Sirāj of Turkey. He is in his late eighties, may Allah preserve him.
17) The martyr in the path of Allah (al-Shahīd), al-Mufakkir, al-Dāʿīyyah Shaykh Dr. Muḥammad Saʿīd Ramaḍān al-Būṭī of Syria. He was martyred in 2013, may Allah have mercy on him.
18) The great author, Al-ʿAllāmah, Shaykh Dr. Wahbah al-Zuhayliof Syria. He passed away in 2015, may Allah have mercy on him.
19) The well-known scholar of Usūl al-Fiqh, Al-ʿAllāmah, Shaykh Dr. Muṣṭafā Saʿīd al-Khin of Syria. He passed away in 2007, may Allah have mercy on him.
20) The great Sufi and mentor (al-Murabbi), Shaykh ʿAbd al-Rahmān al-Shāghūrī of Syria. He passed away in 2004, may Allah have mercy on him.
21) The pious scholar and caller to Allah, al-Murabbi, Shaykh Aḥmad al-Ḥabbāl of Syria. He passed away in 2009, may Allah have mercy on him.
22) Al-ʿAllāmah, al-Murabbi, al-Faqīh, Shaykh Usāma ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Rifāʿī of Syria. He currently resides in Turkey, and is in his late seventies, may Allah preserve him.
May Allah allow us to benefit from their works, Amin.

بِسْم الله، والحمدُ لله، والصلاةُ والسلام على رسولِ الله، وبعدُ.
فهذه أسماءُ بعض شيوخي ونُبذةً عن حياتهم- جزاهم الله عنّي خيرًا، فرحم الله الأمواتَ منهم وبارك الأحياء في أعمارهم:
١- والدي العالمُ الصالح المربّي الشيخ مولانا آدم القاسمي حفظه الله تعالى ورعاه، خريج دار العلوم ديوبند في الهند وصاحبُ الأسانيد العالية ومدرِّس الحديث الشريف، قد تجاوز الثمانين من عمره، مقيم حالياًّ في مدينة (ليستر) ببريطانيا.
٢- شيخ الإسلام والمسلمين المحدِّثُ الفقيه القاضي الشيخ محمد تقي العثماني حفظه الله، هو أشهر من أن يُعرَّف، صاحبُ (تكملة فتح الملهم بشرح صحيح مسلم) و (فقه البيوع) والكتب الكثيرة النافعة، رئيس المجلس الشرعي لأيوفي، و نائب رئيس جامعة دار العلوم بكراتشي وغيرهما من المناصب.
٣- فضيلة شيخ الحديث مولانا اسلام الحق رحمه الله، درَّس (الصحيح) للإمام البخاري سنوات عديدة في الهند و بريطانيا وأقرأناه كاملا روايةً ودرايةً سنة ١٩٩٦ قُبيل وفاته بأشهر، ثم سافر للعمرة في شهر رمضان وتوفي في مدينة الرسول ﷺ ودُفن بالبقيع. رحمه الله رحمة واسعة وأسكنه فسيح جنانه.
٤- فضيلة المحدِّث المربّي الشيخ محمد يوسف مُتالا حفظه الله، من أجلِّ تلامذة المحدِّث الكبير العلّامة محمد زكريا الكانْدَهْلَوي، رئيسُ جامعة دار العلوم الإسلامية في بريطانيا وشيخُ الحديث بها، يُعتبر من كبار العلماء في بريطانيا وله عدَّة مدارس وتلامذته منتشرة في شتى بلاد الغرب.
٥- فضيلة العلّامة الشيخ محمود أشرف العثماني حفظه الله، أحد فقهاء باكستان و مدرِّس الحديث والمفتى بدار العلوم في كراتشي، وهو ابن أخ الشيخ تقي العثماني، يتجلّى في شخصيته التواضعُ والحِلم وغيرها من الخُلُق الحسنة. له بعض المؤلفات النافعة، منها كتابٌ في مناقب معاوية رضي الله عنه.
٦- فضيلة العلّامة المقرئ الفقيه عبد الرزاق الحلبي، شيخُ الشام ومرجعُ الخاصِّ والعام، أقرأ العشراتِ من الكتب والمجلدات وسمع كتابَ الله على القراءات العشر من طلابه في الجامع الأموي بدمشق وقد أجازني في القرآن الكريم والحمد الله، قد توفي في ٢٠١٢ عن ٨٧ عاما، رحمه الله رحمة واسعة.
٧- فضيلة العلّامة الأصولي الأديب الشيخ الدكتور عبد اللطيف الفَرْفور، عالمُ الشام وصاحب الأسانيد العالية، أخذ عن والده الشيخ صالح الفرفور والشيخ محمد المكي الكتاني والشيخ أبي اليُسر ابن عابدين رحمهم الله، له مؤلفات النافعة، منها (ابن عابدين وأثره في الفقه الإسلامي)، توفي في ماليزيا في ٢٠١٤ رحمه الله تعالى.
٨- فضيلة العلّامة محدِّث الشام الدكتور نور الدين عِتر حفظه الله، عالمٌ جليل ومُحدِّثٌ فاضل، وتلميذ الشيخ عبد الله سراج الدين الحلبي رحمه الله وصهره، صاحب المؤلفات والتحقيقات القيِّمة خاصةً في علوم مصطلح الحديث، قد تجاوز الثمانين من عمره عافاه الله.
٩- فضيلة الشيخ المقرئ المفسر الأديب اللغوي محمد كُريِّم راجح، شيخُ قراء الشام سابقاً وتلميذ العلامة الشيخ حسن حبنكة، عالمٌ بالقرآن الكريم وعلومه والقراءات العشر، من مؤلفاته (أوضح البيان في شرح وتفسير القرآن)، عمره الآن قد تجاوز التسعين ويقيم بدولة قطر، حفظه الله وأمدّه بالصحة.
١٠- فضيلة الشيخ المحدّث الفقيه المفتي شبير أحمد حفظه الله، أخذ عن المحدّث الكبير الشيخ محمد يونس الجونفوري رحمه الله وغيره، درّس (ولا يزال يدرِّسُ) أمهات كتب الحديث في بريطانيا منذ خمس وثلاثين سنة، ويعتبر من كبار المفتين في هذه البلاد، من مؤلفاته (كتاب الأربعين في الأذان).
فَتِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ – من مشايخي الكرام الذين أخذتُ عنهم وأفادونى كثيراً في حياتي العلمية والعمَلية على الرغم من أني أراني مقصرا في الإستفادة عنهم، جزاهم الله كلّ خير، ولَم أذكر الكثير من الآخرين خوف الإطالة، أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ.

١٢- العلّامة المحدِّث المسنِد مجيزنا الشيخ السيد مالك السنوسي المالكي الليبي ثم المدني رحمه الله، المتوفى ٢٠١٣ (المدينة المنوّرة).
